Application just ends execution

At first I need to describe my setup, it is very important.
I'm Linux user, so I can't just run this app under wine as it is not working. So my next try is to run it inside virtual machine with Windows 8 in it. App starts fine. I configure it with key and with IP address of real host running War Thunder.
I can open http://172.20.1.4:8111 in browser on Windows VM and see tactical map here. It seems to me same should work for this app too.
However, once I press "Start monitoring" it just exits once 3-4 seconds pass on wall clock. No error reports, nothing I can find in Windows Even Logs. Any advice you can give here?

Does your virtual machine have access to the internet?    Do you get any kind of notifications when you hit "Start Monitoring?"


Once you click on that the App is going to try and validate the Player and Key.    If it passes that you should get a War Thunder status of "Waiting for War Thunder" and OSS Status of "Waiting."

Are you getting that or doesn't it get that far at all?

Yes, it has access everywhere. I have no notifications when press this button.
It says "War Thunder status: Unknown" and "OSS Status: Waiting" after I press "Start Monitoring".

If I start it again with monitoring enabled and very-very fast click on system tray icon to get into settings, it says "OSS Status: Waiting" and "War Thunder: --Not running--". Then it exits. (and it exits if I do nothing too).

There is nothing else I can see. I also tried to install launcher for WT just in case if it can't handle "file not found" error, but then it just starts launcher and exits too.

And now, the solution: I switched Windows interface language and localisations to "English (USA)" and now it is not crashing (exiting?). Previously I used Russian interface.

OSS Status: Waiting for new Mission

Thank you for your time. Hope you have idea how to workaround locale problem in future versions.

Thanks for finding that.

Currently it is only built for English as it has to parse all of the data based on text.   I would definitely need help in order to build additional language support into it.

Now this one will be a bit tricky to explain but has the same end result, the application just ending execution in another way. Installed a while ago and all went well for a couple of days. Then one day I started the application which started the game as it should. But the application itself just stopped. Had to reinstall the application to get it working again. Again, for a couple of days it worked and then the same problem started.

That is an interesting one...    I have no idea what could be causing that as there isn't anything that changes over time and if some corrupt value was creeping in there it should remain even after a reinstall as the config and logs are in ProgramData now.

For the next release; I'll focus on error logging and Error messages.   If it continues we'll then be able to narrow down to what the actual issue is.

The only thing I can think is something might start blocking it from retrieving the vehicle list and map list on startup.   It does that every time it starts up so it has any BR changes and new vehicles/maps.   

In any event..  I have something to focus on for the next version.

Installed today for the first time.

Run the app, set the path and the other info, close the app.

Run the app, automatically executes WT, then the app disappears, including its icon Ermm 

Run the setup again, Windows defender warns about the app, I let it run, same result.

It closes little after run launcher.exe (before clicking the Play button.

I tried running WT first, then launching the app; it closes a couple of seconds later.

What can I do???

What language are you running WT in?    If it is not in English; it won't work.


I've been busy with other projects and unable to allocate time to put error logging in as fast as I wanted too.   

If it's running WT; it is then going to try and monitor the http port.    Do you have an IP address in the settings?    Also, it'll go to verify your user and password from settings.    

I'll install on a new system later tonight and see what I can find.

Hi Sidiros, tank you for your response.

Yes, it's in English., and I entered my user and PW in the app.

The IP address was 127.0.0.1, I think (the default). I was tempted to add the port, but as in the images in the forum about the installation doesn't add it, I left it as it was by default.


PS: I don't understand why the forum doesn't send me an email that I have a response, having set the option (?)
